Metallurgica Bresciana S.p.A. over the last few months, with a view to improving the safety and well-being of workers, it has decided to extend the existing management system also to the aspects of social responsibility required by the international standard SA8000.



In fact, in recent years the company has implemented and certified its quality and environmental management systems; the adaptation to the requirements of the SA 8000 standard therefore aims to be the completion of a process aimed at combining the Company's competitiveness with compliance with quality, environmental, occupational health and safety standards and workers' rights.


The SA8000 certification, which identifies an international standard drawn up by the CEPAA (Council of Economic Priorities Accreditation Agency), evaluates the aspects of company management relating to respect for human rights and workers' rights, protection against exploitation of minors, guarantees of safety and health in the workplace. It is based on various international conventions such as the ILO, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, international human rights standards and national labor laws.


In detail, Metallurgica Bresciana SpA must comply with the following principles:


- exclude child labor and forced labour;

- recognize working hours that are not contrary to the law;

- pay a decent wage for the worker;

- guarantee the freedom of union association;

- guarantee the right of workers to be protected by collective bargaining;

- ensure safety in the workplace;

- ensure a healthy workplace;

- prevent any discrimination based on sex, race, political, sexual and religious orientation.




Based on these principles, the company undertakes to collaborate with suppliers and partners so that they too are oriented towards the same operational logic.
